Walking from Narbourgh Bowls Club to Enderby Leisure Centre 6/2/26

A very wet day, consequently not a lot of outside photos were taken.

The train station road was closed causing traffic disruption. The diversion around was at least 3 miles. But we were ok, we were on foot.

So wet.

When we got to the Leisure Centre the cakes came out to celebrate two of our walkers birthdays who, unfortunately, were not there to enjoy it themselves. They did however send the cakes for us to enjoy.

Home made specials.

The girls enjoyed cutting and serving up the feast.

Waiting in anticipation.

A toast to the cake maker.

Seconds.

Well everybody seem to enjoy the natter and cake. Unfortunately, we all had to get back into our waterproofs for the damp walk back.

Plenty of puddles everywhere.

Got back just in time as the weather was really starting to close in.

See you all next week hopefully with better weather.

30th January 2026 Blaby to Kings Lock.

It has been very wet for a few days so when we started this walk it was no surprise that two minutes in we had to divert approximately a quarter of a mile because of a flooded pathway.

Back on track we set off along the old Great Central Railway track on our way to Kings Lock café.

The tunnels under the ring road look a little a futuristic design. Well worth a photo.

Heads down deep in conversation.

This bridge was designed to make it easier for disabled people to cross the Soar and the canal.

Then back on to the canal nothing much has changed here.

Smartening up time.

   Ready for a bacon buttie.

On our way back the weather had changed a little for the better.

Back under the ring road.

A little bit of a rise, not too steep.

Soon be back in Blaby.

A lovely display of snowdrops

See you all next week.
