19.01.18 Blaby to Leicester via Great Central Railway path. app 5 miles.

Map of the walk from Blaby by-pass Industrial Estate to Jubilee Square Leicester

Twenty one walkers today and a bright frosty morning.

Over the canal after leaving the industrial estate.

Out into the country park at Glen Parva.

Off down the old Central Railway path towards Leicester.

Under the ring road between Fossse Park and the A426.

Good to have a sign post to keep you on the right path.

Crossing over the canal near Aylestone.

A map of how the city used to be.

Jubilee Square and Weatherspoons just around the corner.

Weatherspoons was very busy so we ended up a couple of doors down the High Street at the Queen of Bradgate.  The coffee was good so we might just make this our regular port of call next time we're here.

We all had a good time and a good natter. Then out came the bus passes and got the bus back to Blaby.

12 January 2018 Walking from Blaby to Tesco Wigston.

There was a lot of post Christmas and New Year chat to catch up with fellow walkers we'd not seen for a while so booting up took quite a bit longer than usual.

Leaving Bouskell Park we headed up Church Street passing All Saints Church.

And the old farm.

A couple of horses trying to keep warm and dry.

Our coffee stop in sight - Tesco at Wigston.

There were so many of us we seemed to take over the coffee shop.

Refreshed, we set off for our return trip.

This tree always poses the same question - how or maybe why?

Did someone forget to pack away the Christmas baubles on this tree?

Back at the car park.

A very pleasant walk on a damp January day - great company as always.  Thanks everyone.

Round walk from Cosby via Littlethorpe and Whetstone then back to Cosby. Approx 3.5 miles

We decided on a short walk today to ease us back into the swing of things after all the festivities of Christmas and New Year.  Some of our regulars were suffering from winter colds/coughs so it was good to see a great turnout of nineteen ready for action.

We turned left at Littlethorpe walking down Warwick Road.

We were amused at this sign as the site had been demolished some time ago.

Rudolph and the snowman made us smile.

Our coffee stop for today - recently opened and new to most of us.  Very nice, will be back.

Warm scones - mmmm.

Eyeing up the menu for next time?

Great to see everyone - see you next week.
