10.12.21 Christmas Munch Walk.

There was a short walk of about 3.5 miles from Cosby to Littlethorpe and Whetstone then back to Cosby, to work up an appetite.  Everyone had dressed for the occasion in their Christmas jumpers and hats - must have been quite a sight for passing motorists.

Munch had been prepared by the Christmas elves at the Village Hall.

Food galore.

Around the tables, time to pull the crackers.

Not too much queuing.

Somebody heard Jingle Bells playing

Look who's arrived.

Then after a Christmas ode to all, it was time for presents.

Yum, yum time to put the sprouts on!

Thanks Santa, you were fabulous, we all enjoyed the fun.

Soon after Santa left, there were presentations with very generous and very appropriate gifts and cards.
And the birthday treats were a lovely surprise too. Thank you so much everyone.

More photos.

Then to top it all, the Christmas group photo.

Thank you to everybody for all your help and support.

Happy Christmas everybody.

Anybody seen Mick lately? he was last seen in charge of a Hoover.

Oh, and if anyone was wondering, there were 49 sweets in the jar.

3/12/21 Mowsley to Gumley approx 6 miles.

 Another grey autumn day.

If you have the right gear on, who cares what the weather is?

A little update on how one of our friends is progressing.

Good walk this, except when a car comes along.

Laughton another lovely Leicestershire village.

Cows and calves at a feeding enclosure.

Same cows caught with an angry sky.

Car coming, all on to the grass.

No!! just a lace malfunction.

On the way towards the cricket ground just outside Gumley.

Gumley War Memorial

Short cut around to the church.

Should have gone this way.

Gumley Church.

Somebody lives here who likes tinkering around.

The back yard of the Bell at Gumley, perfect for a walking group like ours.

All rested and watered we set off back the way we came.

Towards Laughton

Could not resist such a cute face.

Back in Mowsley.

Christmas Munch next week.  🎅
