29 degrees !! a walk in the shade of Burbage Wood .

It was set to be a really hot day so we decided to take cover in the woods.

Here we are meeting earlier than usual at Smithy Lane Burbage Common

 Nice cool walk around Burbage Woods.  

                                   

 Amazing the difference a few trees make to the temperature.               

The sun filters through here and there.

                    

 

Wonder who lives here?

Bridge over a trickle of water.

Out into the open briefly as we move from one wood to another.

Time for a group photo, recording may be used in another yearly walk.

Walking is good for all ages.

Oops perhaps a wrong turning.

Now this is just what the doctor ordered on a day like today.

On our way back to the car park.

Another walk successfully accomplished, only lost two people. They went back by car, well it was warm.

1/09/2023 Walking along to Kings Lock via the canal.

Leaving the industrial estate at Blaby and the start of our walk to Kings Lock. 

The first mooring site on the canal and looking in need of a little TLC.

Then it gets better as we move into the country side.

Just waiting for everybody to catch up.

  Just arriving at Kings Lock ready for a cuppa.     

                                 

The cake was really good as usual.

Well better get ready for the walk back.

Under the by-pass on the Great Central railway path.
