31/8/2024 Walking from Gumley to Foxton Locks

What a cracking day for a walk and just the place to choose to walk from, Gumley cricket club on a circular walk via Foxton Locks.

Just waiting for everyone to arrive.

Off we go heading for Debdale Wharf.

Catching up before we head on down to the canal path.                                    

Big renovations going on here - what a place to have your workshop!

Surprise, surprise up ahead on the towpath - we came across a heron waiting for lunch to swim by.

                                        

  We were very close - what an amazing sight.

After all the excitement, a coffee was what was needed.                                        

                                                             

Foxton locks is always a good place to sit and watch the world go by.

A perfect day, we could just about hear a jazz band playing in the background.

                           Time to go, we had a group photo taken on the way.
