Friday 26/11/2021 Walk to Broughton Astley from the B4116 approx 4.5 miles.

Bit of a chilly morning. The fields have been drenched with a lot of rainfall so today we will be walking along a bridle path and a little bit of road then pavements to Broughton Astley from a layby on the B4114.

Straight on to the first part of the bridle way up to a nearby farm.

The farmer here has some super pens for the calves.

The Broughton Astley to Frolesworth Road.

At the outskirts of Broughton Astley we pop into the local park to check out the tree the WI planted to commemorate 100 years.

Around the church and the local fish pond.

A bit of a shadow, but it is a good view.

Cup of coffee at the White Horse.

On the way back.

Car park less than a mile away.

Another good walk.

19/11/2021 Walking around Burbage Woods approx 4.5 miles.

Having a walk around Burbage common and woods taking in the autumn colours.

Good views over the open countryside.

Funny looking stile.

Even more awkward to get over or through.!!!!

Waiting for everybody to catch up.

Chocolates, just what the doctor ordered.  Thank you very much!

We set off again heading towards the visitor centre.

Over the main Birmingham to Leicester line.

Coffee, tea, cake and the remaining chocolates we didn't manage to polish off.

It was a sharing cake we're told.

Gone!

Off we set on the second half of the route back down through the woods.

The autumn colours didn't disappoint.

Nesting boxes are placed all over the woods. We don't get to see much wild life when around twenty people are rustling through the leaves on the ground.

Under the railway line heading towards the second part of the woods.

We say goodbye to some of the walkers here, misunderstanding over car parks. Still it was a good result that we all met up together.

Pumpkins thrown around the woods to feed the wild life - no sign of any wolves or bears fortunately.

Great walk, looking forward to the next one.
