No walk today as it was unbelievably hot so we all went to Everards near Fosse Park for tea coffee and cake. Sorry no pictures.

12/6/2026 Short Walk from Narborough to Jenno's Narborough (heavy rain threating early afternoon.)
Short walk to Jenno's at Carlton Park today as there's a heavy rain threat according to the weather forecast.
Off we go from the bowls club car park in Narborough. We've found a new way into the Santander estate (it's been there for years but the gate is always locked, it's open now, has someone lost the key?)
The old church yard.
Jenno's and cake.
Lots of conversations, always is.

5/6/2026 Walking from Blaby to Everards Meadows.
Another one of those days, will it won't it rain ?
Well we started off with our small bags hiding the emergency water proofs.
Grey clouds to the left but not affecting our walk.
A lesson on lock navigation. Wait patiently and the water does it all for you.
The boats departing the locks.
At our half way point we were entertained by watching the toddler group enjoying themselves. Playing to amuse the kids or it could have been the other way round?
A relic from King Richard III's epic battle at Bosworth. It's got a lot of holes in it so probably was not as good as it was suppose to be.
Break time drinks, cake, and pancakes at Everard's Brewery
Everybody enjoying the conversations and jokes !!
Going back, we passed by some wild flower meadows, hence the name Everards Meadows.
Heading up to the canal and the Central Railway paths, on our way back to Blaby.

Grand Union Canal
Nearing Blaby, somebody spotted a grass snake swimming down the river, needless to say by the time others got to the bridge to look, it had gone.
Still there were some beautiful lily pads for the the frogs to enjoy
We got back without getting wet which made it a very enjoyable day out.
