30/10/026 Walking from the Dovecote Narborough along Whistle Way

We walked from The Dovecote, up to Whistle Way in Enderby towards Seine Lane then turned around and walked back to the Dovecote for lunch.

Our walking friend now living in Devon was visiting this weekend and joined us for our walk.

Unfortunately, four of our walkers couldn't join us today for health reasons, our best wishes to you all for a speedy recovery.

Whistle Way is an elevated walk along the old railway line, away from busy traffic and noise and at this time of year, there's lots of autumn colour to appreciate.

Everyone enjoyed the lunch and atmosphere at the Dovecote.

It was a beautiful day and it was so nice to see our friend again.

23/10/2026 Walking from Jennos to Narborough.

Well, the weather forecast was heavy rain at 10.30 then there was to be a gap for approx. 1 hour, just clouds and 40 mph winds. So off we set on a quick walk out of Jennos at Carlton Park around Narborough then back to Jennos cafe.

Going through places people don't usually walk, the back alley-ways of Narborough.

Making our way to the bye pass through Narborough and Enderby.

Crossing the first section then over the main part the dual carriage way. This takes a bit of time because there are three sets of lights and a lot of talking walkers.

All safely over and heading off back to Jennos for coffee tea etc.

Amazingly, the weather had settled and we enjoyed sunshine on the patio.

Wonder what all those boxes of cake are for.

The surprise of the morning - a 75th birthday was celebrated with cakes and a rousing chorus of happy birthday.

Well not surprising, all the cakes disappeared.

Great morning, loved the company and looking forward to next week's lunch date at the Dovecote.
