5/6/2026 Walking from Blaby to Everards Meadows.

Another one of those days, will it won't it rain ?

Well we started off with our small bags hiding the emergency water proofs.

Grey clouds to the left but not affecting our walk.

A lesson on lock navigation. Wait patiently and the water does it all for you.

The boats departing the locks.

At our half way point we were entertained by watching the toddler group enjoying themselves. Playing to amuse the kids or it could have been the other way round?

A relic from King Richard III's epic battle at Bosworth. It's got a lot of holes in it so probably was not as good as it was suppose to be.

Break time drinks, cake, and pancakes at Everard's Brewery

Everybody enjoying the conversations and jokes !!

Going back, we passed by some wild flower meadows, hence the name Everards Meadows.

Heading up to the canal and the Central Railway paths, on our way back to Blaby.

Grand Union Canal

Impressive bridge bridging the gap.

Nearing Blaby, somebody spotted a grass snake swimming down the river,  needless to say by the time others got to the bridge to look, it had gone.

Still there were some beautiful lily pads for the the frogs to enjoy

We got back without getting wet which made it a very enjoyable day out.
