Nice in the sunshine, perfect for a walk along the canal.
Only six walkers turned up, everyone else must be on holiday.
The first part of the walk is out of the industrial estate at Blaby and then on to the Great Central Way walk, part of which takes you through a little bit of a Glen Parva housing estate.
Waste collection lorries are an essential part of life, but they do seem to be getting larger and larger.
Eventually we came to the Glen Parva and Glen Hills local nature reserves.
At the canal a fisherman was spotted telling a quite a large fishy story.
We arrived at King's Lock, the reason for choosing this walk. Bread and butter pudding apparently has a good reputation with peckish walkers.
Placing our order at the lock-keepers cottage
The bread and butter pudding went down well.
On the way back, we saw that local artists had been at work. Some may say that it brightens up a drab bridge, others will disagree. Some would say it's a long way to Banksy's standard.
It was a good walk as usual and we're looking forward to next week. No doubt it will be holiday conversations all round.
