27th November 2015 Walking from Ratby to Forest Hill Golf Club and return approx 4.5 miles.

Weather-wise it didn't look great but luckily the rain wasn't due to arrive until the late afternoon.

The route from the outskirts of Ratby to Forest Hill golf club.

The car park was on the outskirts of Martinshaw Woods which had recently won an award for the Tender Scheme from the National Forest Association.

We think this type of bridle gate is for horses and not four wheel drive vehicles.

The pathway disappeared into a tunnel formed by the trees.

After the woods we had to cross the golf course. Considering the weather there was quite a number of golfers out and about.

On the other side of the golf course we tramped down a rather wet bridle path and up into the golf course car park.

Head gear is becoming more evident in the colder weather.

There's always a queue for the bar when we arrive.

Willie and Sheila looked as if they were ready for a scone.

Somebody important had just walked in to the club house. He was wearing a red outfit but didn't stay long. Not everyone saw him.

Sheila looking for a little extra jam on her scone.

After a good half hour break we all set off back the way we came.

We didn't see this tree when coming the other way. Must have happened in the recent high winds.

We stopped here to hear some important information on next week's walk.  DON'T FORGET YOUR BUSS PASS.

Willie and Sheila decide to rest on a gate for a while.

Willie had a problem balancing so Sheila is holding him to stop him falling.

Well the rain held off and everybody enjoyed the walk.

Next week we will be walking to Leicester along the Old Central railway path.

Don't forget your bus pass.
