Today we started our walk from Market Bosworth Country Park walking out of the village towards the Battle of Bosworth Visitor Centre and then walking back via Sutton Cheney - 5.11 miles.
Boots and morning chat time.
Any ideas who these boots belong to?
Without a doubt one of the most eye catching cottages on the walk.
A recently refurbished roof, completely remodelled outside - an iconic Leicestershire fox chased by a fox with a pigeon on his back. Chocolate box material we think.
On with the walk down Sutton Lane, a path we use in the winter when the fields are too wet.
After approximately 3/4 of a mile we turned right into the fields.
Taking a stop to let the group gather together.
Over a small stream and into the next field.
We then moved into some corn fields where the farmer had left path ways from one side to another.
You can really get some good photos of the group walking through these fields.
Out of the corn field, over the road and a short uphill walk to the Visitor Centre.
There is a very nice cafe here - some of us couldn't resist the cakes, sausage rolls and pasties.
Hello.
After our break we took the walk back via Sutton Cheney.
Is this a new concept in field fencing?
It's that bloke again, recognise the boots?
Back into the corn fields before moving on to the woods.
Fortunately, a large spraying machine stopped spraying as we passed by.
The oil seed rape was ready for harvesting - the seed pods were really black.
Into the woods where there were still patches of mud to be negotiated.
After all that walking, boot laces can come undone.
Smashing walk, just what we needed to get us in the mood for our Cotswolds walk from Moreton in Marsh next week.
Don't forget we are starting a little earlier at 8.45am.
