1st June 2018 Dunton Bassett to Broughton Astley via Leire. app 5 miles.

Meeting at Dunton Bassett we had a bit of a catch up as some of us had been away on holiday and there's always a lot to talk about.

No welcome sign here.

Just on the outskirts of Dunton a grand house, plenty of room for visitors.

Out into the fields.

Still talking about the holidays?

Striding out in front, looking for that cracking photo. There was plenty of scenery to look at - below the mill pond of Stemborough Mill at Leire.

Walking towards the turn off to Broughton Astley.

Over the stile and into a buttercup meadow.

Well on our way to Broughton Astley. There used to be cattle in these fields but not today thankfully.

On the outskirts of Broughton Astley heading into the housing estate that leads to the White Horse, our half way stop for a cuppa.

Plenty of green spaces throughout the estate making it a very pleasant place to live.

Having a little nosey over a garden wall.

Well, it is nice to sit and have a chat over a cuppa.

 Hello, we can see you.

After 1/2 hour or so we put all the tables and chairs back as we found them, grouped together and set off out of the village on a different route back to Dunton Bassett.

Even a muddy waterlogged hole can look good to a photographer.

Nearly back into Dunton Bassett.

Everybody agreed that it was a good walk.

Don't forget that next week we'll be starting one hour earlier. We're off on an away day to Rutland Water.
