21.07.2019. short walk in Bradgate Park due to rain.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow:

"The best thing one can do when it's raining is to let it rain."

So, we set off for Bradgate Park to join others who enjoy this kind of weather.

The nicest thing about the rain is that it always stops. Eventually.

Picnic time - this happy family didn't seem to notice the rain.

Rain is good for vegetables, and for the animals who eat those
vegetables, and for the animals who eat those animals. Samuel Johnson

Maybe not quite so good for humans walking in Bradgate Park?

At the end of the path we turned around to walk back to the visitors centre.

No surprising trade wasn't good - just a few happy soles who enjoy the lack of madding crowds.

A welcome cup of coffee or tea and cake for some.

Back outside, still raining, still smiling!

Rain hangs about the place, like a friendly ghost. if it's not coming down in delicate droplets, then it's in buckets; and if neither, it tends to lurk suspiciously in the atmosphere.

The grass is always greener on the other side.

The rain began again. It fell heavily, easily, with no meaning or intention but the fulfilment of its own nature, which was to fall and fall.                                                                                             Helen Garner

We were surprised to see a lorry entering the park and wondered why.

Good walk, enjoyed all the company, looking forward to next week.

Could not resist another quote.

Do not be angry with the rain; it simply does not know how to fall upwards.
Vladimir Nabokov
