30/08/19 Draycote Water 5 miles.

We headed off to the village of Thurlaston which overlooks Draycote Water. Draycote Water is a reservoir and country park near the village of Dunchurch, 3.75 miles south of Rugby in Warwickshire, owned and operated by Severn Trent Water. It supplies drinking water to Rugby, via Barby Storage Reservoir, and is named after the nearby hamlet of Draycote.

It's very quiet around here.

Leaving the village there is a  path leading down to the reservoir.

Joining the circular path, we set off for a five mile walk around the quite choppy water of the reservoir.

Great views all the way around.

Plenty of wild life to view as you walk.

On top of the dam holding back the water.

Rainbow and brown trout are fished at Draycote.

More fishermen.

Our refreshment break at the visitor centre.

The exodus from the cafe on our way back to the cars.

You can just spot the alpacas.

A lovely walk with lovely people.
