13/09/2019 Walking from Willoughby Waterleys to Peatling Parva. and back app 5 mls.

Walking out of Willoughby Waterleys on bin collection day.

Soon into the countryside and away from the hustle and bustle.

This walk is mostly bridle ways rather than public footpaths.

On the outskirts of Peatling we walk through a riding school.

Very handsome horses, friendly too.

Across a couple of fields in the direction of the church at Peatling.

A nice welcome to St Andrews.

Your friendly scarecrow.

We all like to take a look around the local churches.

Beautiful windows.

Anyone fancy having a go at bell ringing?

On to our half way point, The Shires, where we all enjoyed a cuppa or maybe a glass of something cool.

A fishy story?

A huge beer garden to enjoy.

Next door's pizza oven?

We were all getting too comfortable so it was decided to start on the way back.

Not the place to leave your post, could be there for a while.

Back we went the same way that we came but somehow it always looks different the other way round.

Through the riding school.

A grass snake that had lost its way and unfortunately looked as if it had been trodden on.

Then back into Peatling having enjoyed the late summer sunshine.
Next Friday is our away day in Derbyshire.
