28th March 2025 Trip to Belton House.

Welcome to Belton House a National Trust property near Grantham for their daffodil show and beautiful parkland.

Straight away we made our way to see the magnificent display of daffodils in the parkland.

Photographers didn't know where to start.

Bit of a discussion on which way around the parkland. We decided to do it all.

Flowers everywhere.

Not only daffodils.

The moles were following us underground.

Couldn't miss an opportunity for a group shot or two.

More flowers.

National Trust had made boards to explain the differences in the daffodils.

Around by the lake house we came across a team of NT workers doing a film on frogs and their habits

Hello Freddy.

Swans took an interest in what was going off on their patch.

The NT workers were very happy to explain what they were doing.

Very interesting interlude, then we moved off around the lake.

We started walking around the lake but flooding problems meant we had to backtrack into the park.

    More info for us.

And lots more flowers.

A rockery and stream taking the overflow from the lake.

Back into the main garden.

Unusually, the Church was open to view.

So a tour around the Church was a must.

  Then the conservatory.

Beautiful, but  .....

The formal Italian gardens and the house.

Then into the cafe for lunch etc.  Some of us had brought picnics.

Hoping for some leftovers.

After lunch we set off on our walk around the wider parkland.

The deer are always fascinating to watch.

Interesting, wonder what it is?

You can just see the Belton Tower in the distance.

One happy chappy!

A closer view of the Tower.  It's a bit blowy up here.

Back to the house and car park.

Goodby Belton, we'll be back another season.

An evening meal at Weatherspoons to finish the day for some.  Caught on camera, everyone looking a bit glum - it really wasn't like that!

A great day out enjoyed by all.
