12.04.2019 Cosby to Croft and return. Approx 5.8 miles.

Walking out of Cosby along Park Road towards Croft Road.

Into the allotments behind the Coop and then through the footpaths to open country.

Into the countryside.

The views are quite stunning - you can see for miles around.

The paths are mostly well marked so you shouldn't get lost.

Croft Hill in the distance.

This is the only tricky bit, turn left here up past the telegraph pole. Sometimes, depending on the time of year, the path is not obvious and we've been known to lose our way at this point.

The crops are growing quite quickly now that spring is here.

Getting closer to Croft we can see the quarry works in the distance.

A bit of a regrouping before we get to the main road, the B4114, that we have to cross.

Safely over the very busy main road we set off for the outskirts of Croft.

Last year's maize field waiting to be ploughed.

Kingfishers have been seen here.

A groupie photo.

Those artistic Croft people decorating a drab under pass.

Great place for wild life.

Croft's memorial, always well kept.

The Heathcote Arms ahead - a cuppa awaits.

Great place to display the history of Croft.

Sitting around in the sunshine enjoying a cuppa.

On the way back the best of the weather has gone. The all too familiar grey clouds roll in for the rest of the day.

Des res duck house?

Taking a moment to re-group.

Back in Cosby and a picture to show that, unfortunately, we do have the odd eye sore in our village.

Yet again a very good walk, lots of chat and looking forward to the next one.
Willie and Sheila have awaken from their winter slumbers and have disappeared off on a cruise.  We look forward to some sunny pictures.
