Well the fields are wet, if not flooded in parts so trying to walk across them at the moment is probably not a good idea. We decided on a firm surface walk ie. mostly tarmac paths.
We drove to Enderby Leisure Centre where we met up with several other walkers who had gone direct.
Setting off, all well wrapped up as there was a definite chill in the air.
No cyclists among us so we carried on as normal on foot.
Crossing over the M1 on the footbridge with the traffic underneath - very noisy.
Heading into Narborough.
Underneath the M1 this time.
Turning left into the village centre.
Passing the recently closed Nat West Bank.
Heading out of the village.
Turning right on to Whistle Way, the old railway line from the quarries in Enderby.
The line is now a very pleasant walk through from Narborough to Enderby.
Crossing over several roads.
In the distance you can just make out Croft hill.
At this point of the walk we make a little detour - time for a cuppa.
Off Whistle Way down on to a bridle way taking us up to the Copt Oak, the local pub.
Plenty off good humour, everybody likes a joke.
Out of the pub to re-join Whistle Way and continue our walk.
With the sun out, we get some interesting shadows for our photos.
Leaving the old railway we set off into the village of Enderby, passing a house with a very interesting Green Plaque.
Down through the centre of Enderby.
The old bank, another just recently closed.
Back to the leisure centre. Good walk, see you all next week.
