Weather forecast was not very good for the early part of the afternoon so we kept our walk very local. Starting from Bouskell Park in Blaby we opted for a shortish walk to Tesco in South Wigston.
As you can see, wet weather gear was the order of the day.

Out of the car park turning right at Sycamore Street then right up Church Street.

With the cemetery on the right we kept straight on.
You can't see it, but the River Sence is off to the left and this has a bad habit of flooding so when we get down to where we join Countesthorpe Road we will have a look just to check the height it's running at.
The lady on the horse decided to give way as there were twenty eight in our group of walkers this morning.

Yes, we did check the river level and it was high but quite safe at the moment. Could get concerned if the rain changed to torrential.
The railway runs quite close to here and there is a station. As we crossed the road towards Tesco some of the group become detached.
They soon caught up and we then dived into Tesco (where every little helps) for drinks and cakes.
The coffee is very reasonably priced as is the tea.
On the way back a well wrapped pony came to say hello as we passed by.
Luckily the rain held off which was not forecast.
All in all it was a good walk, nice to get out in the fresh air. See you all next week.
