26/5/2023 Cosby to Croft inc return approx 7 miles.

Walking out of Cosby via the Settlements

Out into the fields with great views all round.

You can see the outline of Leicester from here.

Continuing on our way heading towards a cracking duck pond.

Well it seems that the geese have taken over for the time being.

Duck House in the centre.

This is the way we are going, the farmer has provided us with a good route across his field.

More fields but different colour-ways.

Waiting for everybody to catch up before we cross the busy B4114 Coventry Road.

After crossing the main road we head off towards Croft.

Kingfisher country.

Hold still while I apply a dock leaf, just the thing for stings.

Through the industrial estate.

Under the railway which serves Croft Quarry.

The Heathcote Arms, usually a very warm welcome.

The view from the front of the pub.

On our way, no food today.

Back the way we came.

That busy main road again.

To the tranquillity of the fields.

Just waiting for the stragglers.

Down through the growing corn, no rain but the corn keeps heading towards the sky.

On the last lane before we reach Cosby.

Out through the allotments this time.

Very good walk with really good weather.

See you all next week.
