Blue skies greeted us at the beginning of our walk.
Yep we just missed a train going through, nice part of the country, it's a shame that in the near future it could all change with the proposed rail link.
Must call in on the way back.
It never changes, been here years. Favourite roosting place for imaginary vultures.
We were early so had a chat while we waited for the Wentworth Arms to open. Unfortunately, they had no record that we had personally visited the previous day to book so we had to abandon our planned coffee/tea break. There were twenty five walkers in our group and to say the least we were not pleased. Needless to say I am sure this will be passed on through conversations that the Wentworth Arms Elmesthorpe, did not seem that concerned that they were letting down customers.
After ringing around unsuccessfully, trying to find somewhere locally who could serve a large group without prior notice and being so near Christmas, we started our return walk.
Luxury bird boxes.
Back at the farm shop we had a good look around and found some very tempting produce on offer.
After some of us bought some very tempting treats we started the last leg of our walk back to the car park.
The picture below shows that trying to cross fields on country paths at the moment is not a good idea.
At the car park one of the walkers opened up the boot of her car and produced lots of goodies which went down a treat with everyone. A rendition of happy birthday by all to a very happy husband followed.
Umms and ahhs as we all like a cake now and again.
See you all next week don't forget it's mince pie week.
