8/3/24 Dunton Bassett to Ashby Parva.

More rain during the the last few days was keeping us to solid walks rather than the wet muddy fields.

Just leaving Dunton Bassett, our first lambs of the year out enjoying themselves.

Horse rider enjoying a dry spell.

Pleased to see the streams are going down in levels.

                                       

Arriving at the Hollybush for coffee.  

                                               

We all got into conversation mode quite quickly.

Thank you mine host for the cake and biscuits, a lovely surprise.

More coffee and tea.

On our way back, still very much engaged in conversation.

Turn left here and back to Dunton Bassett.

Still sleeping for the winter.

That was a bit of an incline.

But definitely fun.

Ah ah cakes, must be somebody's birthday.

A beautiful garden on the outskirts of Dunton, sort of wild yet orderly.

1/3/2024 Wet Walk to Countesthorpe from Blaby.

What an awful wet day it was but there was a glimmer of sunshine later according to the weather forecast so off we went.

Photos outside at this point were few due to persistent rain.

Then the rain decided to stop so we only had puddles and mud to contend with.

We were made to feel very welcome at the garden centre at Countesthorpe which was lovely as that has not always been our experience there.

Looking forward to drinks.

Before walking back some of us did a little window shopping. Maybe too heavy to carry?
