Lovely day for a walk. We decided to start from Smeeton Westerby and parking was organised at the Archery club which was most appreciated. On arrival we sorted out which way to walk out of Smeeton and off we went.
Walking out of the village involved a trip down some gardens and a couple of streets before we found the path out.
We went down a lane and on to fields of cows and chickens heading for the canal.
You have to turn right through the hedge and then you find the route to Foxton.
It's another world through that hedge - boats coming and going even sideways on.
The walk continued to Foxton Locks
We all sat down for a welcome rest, a cuppa, cake and a pint.
Suitably fed and watered, we walked it off by heading back to the cars. It was a great day out and we are all looking forward to next Friday. Wonder where we will be going?
