20/09/2013 Dunton Bassett to Ashby Parva circular walk – 5 miles.

Directions for next weeks walk are below this blog.

13 of us set out on a bright morning. Driving to the start of the walk in Dunton Bassett.  A walk had been suggested and a map supplied so off we set.

We decided to take the longer route to Ashby Parva timing our arrival at the pub (Holly Bush) to coincide with the opening time.

This part of the walk is mainly on paths through fields of stubble going from yellow waymark to yellow waymark.  We passed the sand quarries where we spotted the Mick Dann Crushing car, which we thought worth a photograph.

Eventually we reached Ashby Parva where the Aston Martin window was spotted.

At the Holly Bush we sat in the garden.  As it was Friday we had unfortunately missed the “Any two burgers and a bucket of beer for £20” offer so most of us settled for a cup of coffee.

The route back to Dunton Bassett was by way of a quiet road where we saw a couple of buzzards (wrong camera and lens and they were far away) and some cows (safely behind barbed wire).  The giant windmills were in the background.

Sadly one of our regular walkers is in hospital having had major surgery on Monday. We all wish her a speedy and complete recovery and hope to see her walking with us soon.
