27 August 2021 walking around Draycote Water approx 5mls.

Parked up at Thurlaston village and set off for our walk at 10.30 am prompt.

Bit of a grey day but at least it was dry.

Fruits of the forest.

Walking across the dam wall.

Large fire in the distance.

Egrets and a heron along by the reservoir walls.

Very pretty plant - none of us had come across this before.  Later identified as a blackberry.

Cuppa at the restaurant.

We spotted some military machinery 'parked up' alongside the reservoir and wondered if it was intended to be showcased at Cosby Victory Show the following weekend.

Still no sign of the sun on the final leg.

The recently completed memorial garden.

The fire in the distant still burning.

Back into Thurlaston.

Birthday boy with home-made cakes for all.

Great way to finish off the walk.
