2/12/2022 The Christmas Munch at the Bull, Broughton Astley

E mail sent out to rally the walkers for the Christmas Munch.

We will be doing a short walk from the The Bull at Broughton Astley on Friday morning. Please park at the Bull at 10.45 am. We will take a walk around the alleys and streets of Broughton. There will be no stiles or fields, all tarmac.

Anyone going to lunch and not walking please join us later, lunch is booked for 12.00 noon.

On the day,  Christmas jumpers are positively encouraged as are the Christmas hats, we want to give a good impression to our Secret Santa.

After the pre Christmas rallying message everybody who was walking turned up on a grey morning all in good spirits wearing their Christmas jumpers, hats etc

The Bull at Broughton Astley picture taken a couple of months earlier when it was a little bit warmer.

Getting ready for the off.

Just checking, not enough fingers really. So we asked if everybody was here and everybody said yes so off we went.

A short walk around the alleyways and streets of Broughton Astley.

Had a few strange looks from the locals.

There was the odd Christmas joke.

What do you call an elf wearing ear muffs?

Anything you want. He can’t hear you!

What do you call a boomerang that doesn't come back?

A stick.

Back to the walk.

Not far now, around St Mary's Church then back to the Bull.

The Bull made us feel very welcome.

Photos circulating of places that we have visited in the past year.

Photographer been snapped.

The answers to where we had been in the last 12 months, we should have but didn't get them all right.

Just goes to show, far too much talking, we'll have to visit all those places again!

The food looked good.

Everybody tucked in, there were a lot of clean plates.

A great festive feast.

We have a secret Santa coming, should be great fun.

Santa arrives with two elf helpers in disguise.

Looks like Santa has had a few too many plates of Christmas Pudding.

A small ditty.

Santa's beard kept getting in the way.

A little bit of help was needed.

       That's better.

The tale is finished now it is down to business. It is SECRET SANTA TIME !!!!!

Gifts for everyone.

Great fun had by all. A big round of applause for our Santa, he was brilliant, thank you Santa.

Who wouldn't want a hug from Santa.

What is this - another surprise, presents for our photographers and  walk helpers. Lots of applause.

Another impromptu speech, a big thankyou to everybody who is a part of our wonderful group, without you all it really wouldn't work as well as it does.

Let's look forward to next year and lots of exciting walks here and there.

Happy smiles all round.

See you all next week.
