7/4/2023 Easter walk to Kings Lock.

Nothing like a sweetie before your walk, after all it is Easter.

A slight incline before we get to the Central Railway path.

A pause at the summit.

Off we go again. The sun makes all the difference when you are walking.

The Great Central Railway path goes all the way into Leicester.

Today we are turning off the path and over the Grand Union Canal via a new bridge built specifically to help everybody access the canal path and the great central railway path giving access to the Nature Reserve and miles of very accessible paths. Even access to Fosse Park shopping centre.

King's Lock Bridge.

One of our favourite cafes is located near to the bridge on the canal side.

Down the hatch!

We always have a good time here.

Well time to set off back to Blaby. Just got to get everybody in the same frame of mind.

His and her reflections.

Rain has been falling consistently recently thus watering holes are everywhere.

A beautiful reflective moment captured.

Enjoying the sights and sounds of  the canal.

Under the Leicester ring road.

Spring is bursting out all over.

A feisty swan, looks can be deceiving - ask the the photographer!

Heading towards the bridge back over the canal and the Great Central Railway path.

Out of the Nature Reserve.

Smiles all round.

Snap

Back over the canal towards Blaby.

Hedgerows are coming alive.

Cake awaits us, IT'S BIRTHDAY TIME, we love cake. Big thank you to the baker.  And, of course happy birthday to the birthday boy.

Yummy!

Always goes down well.

Not much left for later.

That was a great success. Thank you all.

Happy Easter everybody.  🐥
