Friday 4th April 2014 walk from Cosby to Croft Approx 5 miles.

It was a brisk morning, a little grey but no sign of rain -  pretty much good walking weather for the time of the year.

Fourteen walkers kitted up for the start - it's an art to balance on the back of a car putting your boots on! The walk had a few challenges including a very muddy patch near a style where a steady hand helps a lot.

A fallen tree across the footpath a meant a bit of a detour.

We went through a tunnel under the railway line which leads into the quarry.

My head feels a little light.

The odd bridge had to be negotiated as well as a very busy main road.

There are always a few more styles.

On reaching Croft we headed for the Heathcote Arms where coffee was served in designer mugs.

After a cuppa served with chocolates (all pubs/cafes please note!) we set off on the way back.

It was a good walk but such a shame that Willie and Sheila missed it, apparently somebody forgot them.

Back in Cosby here's a shot of one of the many absolutely beautiful trees in full blossom that are situated all round the village.
