The walk today was from Dunton Bassett Church to the Holly Bush Pub and Restaurant at Ashby Magna. We normally walk between 10.30 and 2.00pm so according to the weather forecast it looked to be okay, just be prepared.
Ashby Parva Church. |
On the way to the walk starting point we called in at Ashby Parva Church to view the snowdrops in the church yard.
In an adjacent field a couple of Shetland ponies came looking for tit bits.
Dunton Bassett Church
We walked up through Dunton Bassett village and out on to the lane leading to Ashby Magna.

After our snowdrop stop we drove towards Dunton Bassett and parked in a lay-by on the outskirts of the village.
The sky changed colour as we walked, grey as the clouds rolled across and blue when they'd passed.
Arriving in Ashby Magna we admired a garden of snowdrops then headed around the corner for a cuppa at the Holly Bush pub. The menu looked pretty impressive and the meals being served looked good - possibly a return visit?
After our break we headed back the way we came.
On the way we passed a burst water main. We think !!
A lot of water and somebody starts thinking of the one that got away!
Another interesting walk.
Next week we go to Loddington for a Snowdrop Bonanza.
See you all then.
