3rd June 2016 walking from Market Bosworth to the Battlefield Visitor Centre. 6.25 mls.

The walk was to start from the Market Bosworth Country Park heading up to the Battlefield Visitor Centre, returning via Sutton Cheney.

Nineteen walkers, not bad for a Friday 5 mile stroll.

The topics of conversation vary immensely from the latest football news to views on cycle lanes down Belvoir Street.

Then the announcement that the walk is only about 5 miles long as usual - an elastic 5 miles we think!

Walking across the country park towards Market Bosworth.

Picturesque cottage on Sutton Lane at Market Bosworth.

Walking out of the village with one of our younger walkers stepping out in front.

Further down the lane there is a call from ahead warning that a car is approaching so everyone moves over to the verge.

Cracking weather for a walk and everyone is smiling.

More cars, very unusual.

At the end of Sutton Lane we turned right towards the Visitor Centre.

The next car park was closed and locked - so the thieves would have a lean time of it there!

Another mile to go from here and tea and coffee awaits.

The visitor centre is a good half way point on this walk.

Wondered where he'd got to. Anyone have a key?

On our way back up towards Sutton Cheney.

The girls always stop and admire the cottage gardens.

Then back into the fields. Lots of Cow Parsley with nettles inter mingled to catch you out.

We couldn't understand why horses weren't allowed.

Then fields of oil seed rape..

Not a good place to be for some.

Out of the fields and into the woods, the vista changing every 200 yards, a very diverse walk, one word - stunning.

Keep your heads down.

The pictures do all the talking.

Getting close to the end of the walk.

Another great walk, thank you all, especially our photographs.

Now that the holiday season has started, to all those who are going on holiday have a great time and to those at home hope to see you next week.
