Friday 6th October Walking around Thornton Reservoir approx 5 miles.

Walk at Thornton Reservoir.

We decided to walk “there and back”, starting at the main car park, walking round to the road and then back again bringing the walk up to about five miles.

It was beautiful weather as 18 of us started our walk round the reservoir.  Very popular spot in the sunshine with all the car park bays taken (except for three of the increased number of disabled bays).

Many Canada Geese on the reservoir. These birds successfully increasing in number and seeming to drive out other waterfowl.

Enjoying the sights of Thornton Reservoir.

When we had finished the walk we went to the local Forest Hills Golf Course where we had coffee (and for some of us) cake.

A perfect autumn walk. We are looking forward to next week's Friday 13th walk.
