24th August 2018 Walking from the B4114 lay-by to Broughton Astley.

Fridays Walk 24th August 2018

Copy of the email sent out to arrange the walk:

Hi Everybody,

Weather looks good for walking, sunshine and clouds, rain at about 3pm.
Meet at Cosby Village Hall car park 10.30 am.
The walk will start from the lay by on the B4114 heading towards Sharnford one mile past the traffic lights for Broughton Astley . The lay-by is opposite the turning for Sapcote the B4669. It is also the start of the old roman road.

Broughton Astley dwellers may want to go direct as I think the road is still closed to Cosby.

The photo underneath is of the start of the walk, obviously a little bit on the chilly side but after a while you soon get warmed up.

Walking down the lane towards Broughton Astley.

Discussion on which way to walk through the village. A new cafe has opened up so it is decided to go and try it out.

This way, through the park and out the other side.

Welcome to the new pop up cafe. It's a special big birthday and all 24 walkers had been invited around for tea, coffee and lots of homemade cakes.

Happy birthday to you!

The surprise was much appreciated by everyone - thanks folks.

Time to move on - back on the road from Broughton Astley.
