Starting from Crow Mills car park located just off the canal on Countesthorpe Road.
Leaving the car park.
Heading down Mill Lane towards Blaby.
The weather was overcast with strong winds as we made our way from Mill Lane towards Hospital Lane.
After a walk up the very busy Hospital Lane for about 400 yards we turned into the fields.
It became very blustery and the rain came down. Fortunately we were dressed for the occasion.
Here we are at the Garden Centre on the outskirts of Countesthorpe.
Tea, coffee and cakes were enjoyed by all.
Leaving Countesthorpe taking a different route for the return walk.
There was a slight pong at this point of the walk as we made our way around the sewerage works. Not visible but you knew they were there.
Open drains that really do need closing up.
Muddy boots time.
Down by the canal the rain stopped and it was much better for walking.
We paused for a group photo.
What does MOPS mean?
After that we continued past a couple of swans and on to the Little Venice of Wigston.
Quite a lot of work has been going on around the waterfront.
Outdoor rooms with a view.
From here it was only a short walk to Crow Mills car park and the end of our walk.
Pity about the weather but a very interesting walk, would love to do it again in better conditions. Thank you all.
