31st August 2018 Walking from Market Bosworth Country Park to The Bosworth Visitor Centre approx 5 mls or so.

All parked up and ready to go. Well, nearly everybody, when you've got to go you've got to go.

Then we got started.

Did a bit of homework on this stone but don't have the answer yet.

Off out into the fields leaving Market Bosworth Country Park behind us.

We're off to the Bosworth Battlefield Visitor Centre.

Quiet a lot of fields and gates to get through.

The farmland we are crossing belongs to Woodhouse Farm and the paths are very well marked - no problem to follow. The yellow tipped markers provided by Leicestershire County Council are the best way of finding your way around the fields.

A short pause to let everyone catch up.

Off we go again - cracking countryside.

Lovely to have a younger walker with us today - she seems to be thoroughly enjoying herself.

Now then, a little confusion over signs so out comes the trusty OS map.

Sorted!

Good route this - we ended up in the back yard of the Royal Arms pub in Sutton Cheney. Looks like a bikers day out.

Today's route is part of the Leicestershire Round footpath which is a total 124 miles - but we're not planning on doing all of that today.

The church in the village is famous for the fact that Richard the third took part in what was to be his last mass there.

Out of the village along Ambion Lane with a mile to go to the Visitor Centre.

Not far now a cup of coffee/tea and probably a cake or two.

Willie, Sheila and family have joined us for cakes and drinks.

Just checking everyone's here and ready to go.

Walking down the road to get to the entrance to the fields.

Well, it is great weather for walking - not too hot, not too cool and no rain. Still shorts weather for some.

Over a brook where the bridge is slightly overgrown - the weeds don't seem to know there's been a drought.

After working our way through the jungle we headed up Sutton Lane which leads back to Market Bosworth.

It makes it a little more exciting when you have to battle with the elements in order to continue your walk (although those in shorts may not agree!).

Back into Market Bosworth.

You never know what you might find up on the roofs.

Back at the car park, a generous five mile ish walk.
