After meeting at Cosby we went on to Oakfield Park car park on Hospital Lane Blaby to meet up with the other walkers.
Some decided to have a go on the gym equipment provided by the local council.
Crossing Hospital Lane onto the public foot path which leads to Mill Lane.
Must be chilly - this pony had its winter coat on.
Turning on to Mill Lane just after the cemetery.
The usual sights along Mill Lane with lots of stables.
Arriving in Wigston we held the traffic up for a while crossing the main road in order to access Tescos.
We pretty much took over the cafe in Tesco - there were so many of us.
Some indulged in a slice of cake while others debated whether to or not.
Well, after our break we wandered out and agreed we'd go along with the Tesco slogan ' Every Little Helps.'.
Leaving Wigston we turned on to the Grand Union Canal path for our walk back to Blaby.
A couple of locks down the canal we came to group of houses whose owners make the most of their canal frontage.
This particular household seems to have an ice cream parlour, public house and restaurant with barbecued food on offer although it looks closed for the winter months.
Approaching the end of our canal walk we swung left towards Glen Parva Manor which leads to the ford over the River Sence. The River Sence joins the River Soar down towards Enderby Road near the Foxhunter pub/roundabout.
Over the ford by means a bridge designed for pedestrian use only.
After the ford we came back on to Mill Lane and the cemetery and 20 minutes later we were back at the car park.
Good walk, nice weather, looking forward to next week.
Just a reminder SNOWDROP WALK FEBRUARY 15th.
