There were only ten of us today - many of our regulars were away on holiday.
After meeting up in Mowsley we set off for our walk to Gumley.
A very special grandpa lives here - does runny eggs too.
Leicestershire scenery at its best.
The tiny village of Laughton. No buses in this part of the county.
Victorian post box.
Nice floral drive up to the house.
Horses and lambs - it's all part of country life.
Views over south Leicestershire.
We think that this is a Dexter. Good meat but not much of it.
Somebody a bit scared of cows?
Car coming.
Walking past the cricket ground.
The sky keeps changing colour.
Gumley - on the way in towards the water tower.
Sleepy village road.
The local library complete with window box.
No, don't fancy drinking this water.
Into the Bell, the local pub for tea/coffee and a big welcome.
It started to rain first of all then these white balls kept arriving.
As the hailstones pounded the canvas at a deafening rate we couldn't hear each other speak. We just had to laugh!
The marquee started to leak.
Waterproofs were dug out from the bottom of the bag and hastily put on for the return journey.
This was definitely not in the plan for today.
Here you can see hailstones captured by the camera.
And then, just as we left the pub the sun came out.
Must have been a lot of water, little rivers on the sides of the road.
Blocked drain and a waterfall going upwards.
Well, it was a great walk and the sun was with us all the way back.
