03.01.20 01Walking from Market Bosworth to Battle of Bosworth Visitor Centre and back app 6.5 mls.

For our first walk of the new decade we met at Market Bosworth Country Park and were all keen to get going on a bright but cool morning.

Sun glasses came out as we walked into the village.

The sun lit up exceptional buildings even catching foxes running across roofs.

Out of the village and into the countryside.

Trees without leaves have a beauty all of their own.

Having a little catch up break just to bring the group back together.

At the end of the lane we turned right towards Shenton and the entrance to the visitor centre, our destination for our half way break.

The entrance to Bosworth Heritage Centre.

Not for the faint hearted?

There's a bit of a hill up to the visitor centre.

On arriving, shock horror the cafe was closed. No coffee, no tea and no cake !!!

And we had checked opening times on-line before we came - well, we sat down in disbelief.

Fortunately, there was a bowl of water for our canine friends and luckily the loos were open for us so it wasn't a total disaster.

It was a lovely day and everyone was still smiling as we set off back on our return trip.

The countryside looked magnificent with the sunlight casting shadows.

Down the country lanes on our way back to Market Bosworth.

Back into the village.

It was a lovely walk of about six and a half miles and a gorgeous day making a welcome change from grey skies and all the rain we've been having.
See you all next week.
