Cosby to Broughton Astley Macmillan's Walk approx 5 Miles.

Today's the day we've been looking forward to, the Macmillan Coffee Morning. As anticipated, we had a great turnout for this walk.

The plan was to walk from Cosby to Broughton Astley over the fields and after the coffee morning, return by a different route. The cakes baked by our willing bakers were collected before we set off and taken to the party venue to be added to those made by our host.

This was once a beautiful small bungalow, now razed to the ground.  Hopefully, an equally beautiful bungalow will replace it.

Fields around the outskirts of Cosby.

Catch up time

Cows not everyone's favourite.

Approaching Broughton Astley.

At the allotments as you enter Broughton Astley, our photographer was fascinated with the spade being used.

The attachment to the spade below is used for winter digging.

Pumpkins for Halloween

The flags were out for us.

What a wonderful greeting from our host.

Orders were taken for drinks before we were invited in to see the wonderful display of cakes. Yum yum.

And lots more. We were spoilt for choice, they were all delicious.
After much sampling, a thank you was pronounced to our host much to her embarrassment.

Feeling rather rounded we set off back towards Cosby.

Across the bottom fields carrying doggy bags to be enjoyed later.

Back into Cosby.

Taking a look in the pinfold sensory garden.

Great walk, lots of fun, and we all agreed the half way stop was ACE.  Don't think we can
match that next week!

And the icing on the cake (pardon the pun!) was that everyone was super generous and the magnificent sum of £325.00 (to date) was raised for Macmillan.  Brilliant - big thanks to our wonderful host and all our bakers and of course for all the generous donations.
