Bit of a cloudy day with a chilly breeze. We're sure that when we get going it won't be a problem.
Leaving Cosby after winding our way through the village. Going to walk across the top fields to Broughton Astley then back by the bottom route.
As this picture shows we still haven't had any rain for a while and the soil is drying out fast.
A new knee and first walk back with the group - testing out a few stiles - holding up really well.
Dandelions always a cheery sight in the countryside, maybe not quite so welcome in our gardens.
A helping hand.
Tractor came this way.
The flimsy electric wires keep the cattle on the other side, much to the relief of some.
Only one wire now.
Approaching Broughton Astley and our coffee stop at the White Horse.
On Q the sun comes out and we all sit down for a good old chin wag.
Ah well time to set off back.
Bit of damage at this crossing.
Horses in this field are very friendly and generally keep well out of the way.
Back out on to a well worn track.
Communications systems are a little different to the old telephone wires.
This path shows seedlings just coming through. Hopefully, the farmer will soon provide us with a clear path way but in the meantime we tread as carefully as possible.
Approaching a couple of awkward stiles.
Needs fixing.
Back into Cosby
Lining up for the group photo.
Lots of ducks and ducklings, five broods in all so far.
Well that was a great walk. Bluebells next week, hoping for a big splash of BLUE.
