Beautiful day for walking from Willoughby Waterleys to Peatling Parva. Only two stiles, mostly by-ways and a few fields, meeting at The Old School.
Surplus garden produce was on offer before the walk started. Rhubarb in abundance so jam is a possibility also somebody mentioned a crumble. Oh, and there were plenty of tomato plants for those with green fingers.
Walking out of Willoughby Waterleys
On Q a pony and trap arrived but we couldn't hitch a ride as it already had a passenger.
Off on to the bridleway and a wild flower meadow just like old times.
More horses.
The riders were very friendly so we all had a quick chat whilst admiring the skill in actually riding a horse.
We noticed how a lot of the early blossom was fading and giving way to more varieties.
A particular area of this walk just ahead can be unpassable if there has been a lot of rain.
On our way to the first stile of the walk.
Two more fields and we will be at St Andrews Church in Peatling Parva.
A friendly puppy greeting everybody enroute.
Down to the local for refreshments.
After a while, someone ordered a couple of sandwiches. Unfortunately they arrived just as we were leaving.
Problem of the late sandwiches solved - we all shared them, an unexpected treat!
On our way back the stiles always stretch the group out a little.
Found a comfy seat.
Nice to see you all again.
Bye bye.
Another great walk, see you all next week.
