Walcote to Lutterworth. 23/09/22

Resume provided by the walk leaders.

Thought we would give you some input about the walk we did….
15 of us started at Walcote village hall car park.
Walked along the memorial walk between Walcote and Misterton.
Views of Misterton Hall and lake.
Went through Misterton churchyard and across the River Swift.
Through field where cows were kindly laid down.
Under the M1, up the hill, along and into Lutterworth.
Drinks at The Shambles.
Retraced our route towards the M1 but this time walked over the bridge.
Walked down the hill into the cow field where miraculously the cows had vanished.
Back into Misterton and Walcote.

Plenty of photos

Looks like a great walk.

Just thought that we would sign off with a reminder about next week's Macmillian coffee morning and also the recipe for the cake enjoyed last week which was made by one us as a Macmillan fundraiser.

160g Chopped Dates
185g Dark Brown Sugar
3 Tablespoons Butter
250ml water
Half a teaspoon of Bicarb
1 egg, beaten
60g Chopped Walnuts
300g S R Flour

Bring dates, sugar, butter and water to boil.  Then leave to cool.

Stir in bicarb, egg, walnuts and flour.

Put into a cake tin 23cm X 8cm.  170 - 180deg for 40-45 minutes.

Leave to cool before cutting and enjoying.

Big thanks to our brilliant leaders and photographers of the day.
