2/5/2025 Dunton Bassett to Broughton Astley via Leire.

It looks beautiful but isn't if you're allergic to oil seed rape.  Unfortunately, it's difficult to avoid at this time of year.

So back to parking up at the start of our walk in ideal walking weather.

Out into the fields, our warm gear consigned to haversacks.

More yellow stuff.

The lake at the mill in Leire,

Horses approaching us.

Very well behaved as well.

Looks like a tree with many arms offering a hug.

Another horse.

Time for a (partial) group photo.

Wisteria in its full glory.

Out of Leire under the old railway bridge.

Broughton Astley in the distance.

Checking our the buttercups.

Come this way often ?

TheWhite Horse, one of our regular stops.

Meeting up with some of the non walkers of the day.

Nowt like a banana to keep the day going.

On our way back we have to watch out - the ground is very hard baked with cracks and causing trip hazards.

Like being in the deserts of the southern hemisphere. Must be a huge problem for farmers.

Back through the gate where we started - no cows then but lots now.  Fortunately they weren't very interested in us.

See you all next week.
