10th Feb 2017 Old Fosse Road lay-by to Broughton Astley approx 5 miles.

It was a very cold day with a forecast of snow.

Trees en route

Down towards the Broughton to Frolesworth Road.

Trees for the wood burner?

Wonder how anyone can lose this.

Which way now?

On into Broughton.

Through the park.

One of our walkers pointed out a new tree planted celebrating 100 years of the WI.

What's that?

.

Out of the park and round by the church.

Walked past Percy's place.

The old pump doesn't work any more.

Back over the bridge and round into the pub.

Relaxing in the warmth of the pub.

Leaving the pub we came across a stranded Peacock Butterfly.

We put it in a safe place and took it with us.

The snow started to fall.

Snowing quite heavily now but not far to the cars.

The Peacock Butterfly's cosy new home in a walker's loft space.

Loddington and snowdrops next week.  Earlier start of 9.30am don't forget.
