25th August Croft to Stoneycove. app 5mls.

After leaving Cosby we all met at Croft and parked near to the church. After booting up we set off for Stoney Cove.

The first part of the walk was a little overgrown and selecting the right path was a bit tricky.

Two new walkers joined us on our walk today and quite enjoyed the mix up over which of the paths we were meant to be on.

When the sun's out it's great to be out and about.

This pile of rubbish didn't look as if it belonged where it had been dumped so we think fly tippers have been at work again.

We were lucky to find the route through an overgrown hedge.

There were some bulls in another field which caused a little concern to start with. Absolutely great when we realised our walk was a different route.

Our route was through the field with cows in and fortunately they were far too busy feeding to take much notice of us.

 No problems. Phew!

Crossing a couple of streets in Stoney Stanton before arriving at Stoney Cove.

There's always something going on at the diving centre so it's a great place to sit and watch the world pass by and enjoy a good coffee or tea.

Oh and some prefer a fruit juice.

Anybody recognise the sign?

After a nice relaxing drink we started back to Croft on a different route.

This lot were very inquisitive so we didn't invite them to join us.

One or two of us remembered crossing this field last year. It was full of maize so high that some of our walkers disappeared when they turned a corner.

You can just see Croft in the distance as you enter this field.

New bridge over the stream.

The old bridge - there is no stream any more - it changed direction at some point in time.

About a mile outside of Croft.

 Into Croft.

The cars parked outside of the church.

Lovely walk, weather was just right. Hope it is the same for next week.
