19/10/2018 Walking to Kings Lock Cafe on the canal from Blaby through Aylestone Pastures Reserve. approx 4.4 mls.

Nice day, so why not go for a walk along the old Great Central railway and the canal, a walk which is only about 3 miles from Cosby.

A hump back bridge near to the start.

Autumn colours along the old Great Central railway towards Aylestone Meadows.

New sign posts and we're wondering whether it was money well spent. They do make people stop and think.

Under the ring road.

New maps dotted here and there.

An older sign telling the history of the packhorse bridge.

Kings Lock Cafe - a great place to stop for a cuppa and a slice of cake.

Generous portions indeed!

On we go, back towards Blaby via the canal path, very pleasant.

A heron on fishing duties.

The ring road bridge decorated by a local artist.

The canal at its best in the autumn sun.

A very pleasant walk.

Bike recovered from the canal, probably past its best.

Reflections.

More reflections of the circular kind.

Two happy walkers.

Another 20 yards and we come to the end of our walk for today.
