26/10/2018 walking from Ratby, Martinshaw Woods to Forest Hills golf course and back 4.9 miles.

Not much room on the car park at Martinshaw Woods.

With a little bit of fiddling we managed.

Twenty two walkers today, hope there's enough room at the golf club for coffee.

Just out of the first section of woods we have to cross Markfield Road for access to Borough Woods.

Up near the bluebell walk car park we paused while everybody caught up.

Now we really started to get some autumn colours on this stretch of the walk.

Somebody suggested that this would make a really good winter walk.

Heading on towards the golf course.

We had to wait until a few golfers played through.

Getting a wriggle on before the next group of golfers arrive.

Into the club house at Forest Hills.

Nice table decorations.

Halloween is just around the corner and there are plenty of ghouls and cobwebs here to get you in the mood.

Not this chap.

Looks like this poor soul has been hanging around too long.

Very scary.

Even more scary?

Considering we are nearly at the end of October the course looked in very good condition.

A croc?

This golfer's ball stopped 2 feet from the water's edge and when he played a great shot onto the green there was a tremendous round of applause and cheering from us.

We walked back the way we came.

The weather had been very kind. Cold and breezy but not wet.

Only a mile or so to go. Talk of walks a little further afield cropped up in conversation and Derbyshire,  the Cotswolds and Lincolnshire were mentioned.

Close to the car park now, everybody grinning. Will have to put our thinking caps on for next week.

Back at the car park great walk everybody looking forward to next week.
