16th November 2018 Walking around Draycote Water. approx 5.5 miles.

Bit of a grey day but it was anticipated.

We met in the picturesque village of Thurlaston in Warwickshire.

Another group coming the other way

Someone in the village had made cakes for Children In Need and left them in cake boxes in an old bus shelter together with an honesty box.  Of course some of us couldn't resist.

 A group photo.
A bit of a queue for the ?????

With cakes stashed away in cars (or eaten on the spot!) we set off down to the reservoir.

.

 Pumping water in and out.

Very grey out on the reservoir itself so not a lot of activity.

Plenty of activity in the cafe. At the visitor centre.

After refreshments at the visitor centre we set off on the way back.

 Along the dam wall walk.

Wonderful to be out and about in the great outdoors.

Reaching the sensory garden we waited until we all caught up before continuing the walk.

Nearing the end, still surrounded by autumnal colours.

Leaving the reservoir we headed back up into the village.

A bit of a hill to finish us off.
