12/5/2023 Walking to Leicester from Blaby. App 6.5 miles.

Wet, wet, wet, that has been the weather for the last few days so we decided on a tarmac walk from Blaby to Leicester.

We entered the nature reserve at Glen Parva via the Great Central railway path from Blaby.

After about 3 miles we stopped for a few minutes.

Along the walk the predominant plant was cow parsley, various local names were offered. (Old mans Baccy, and Keck)

Leaving the country behind and entering the city.

Crossing the Canal.

Swans waiting for food from passers-by.

Castle Park

The Castle gardens and a Foxglove Tree.

Group photo. Happy bunch.

Our chosen coffee/tea stop.

Good walk and now we get the bus passes out to get back to Blaby.
