18/07/25 Thornton Water then over the road to Thornton Nurseries.

Not so warm this morning but expected to get hot, hot, hot in the afternoon so we started a little earlier than usual.

About ready for the off.

Thornton Water here we come. Anti clockwise today.

The geese playing it safe on the crossing.

The anti clockwise route takes us along the dam road, then along the reservoir track.

Walking this way around should give us a fair amount of shade from the tall hedges.

Still very pleasant, but getting warmer.

A new pop up cafe at the fishing boat. Not a lot of seating, probably not enough for all of us.  In any event, we'd already booked at Thornton Nurseries cafe across the road from the reservoir.

Mum and baby grebes.

Just about around the reservoir and off for a drink soon.

This sign is way out of date.

this is even worse.

Into the garden centre for a cuppa.

Well the prices are ok.

Looks like everybody is enjoying the sun and the chatter.

Refreshments among the flowers is a enough to tempt you to make a purchase or two.

The owners 'hoover' enjoying a rest.

Really was a good day and the bacon sarnies looked very tempting as did the scones.

Cracking day, good weather and a new venue to have a cuppa.
